Kathy Lantry for City Council

RESPONSIBLE, INNOVATIVE
BUDGET SOLUTIONS
Budgeting for the city continues to be a challenge. During the past four years, the State of Minnesota has decreased aid to local governments by tens of millions of dollars. This has resulted in a greater tax burden for residential property owners. I understand the strain this can put on families and I am always looking for ways to improve city services while saving the city money. That’s why I led an effort to consolidate the Saint Paul and Ramsey County Emergency Communications Centers. Ideas like this one lead to better service and will save the city millions of dollars over the next several years.

LIVING WAGE JOBS
AND THRIVING BUSINESSES
Business retention and attraction make our neighborhoods strong. I have been privileged to serve on the St. Paul Port Authority -- working to bring hundreds of living wage jobs to the city on land that was once polluted or underused.

STRONG HOUSES,
STRONG NEIGHBORHOODS
Stable, well-maintained housing is a top priority for me. That’s why I was pleased to serve on an anti-predatory lending working group convened by the Minnesota Attorney General. This collaborative process created a new law that will help protect people against unfair lending practices that result in vacant houses. I also have been an advocate for the city’s historic districts and for policies that encourage investment in the city’s housing stock.
